Too buy a video card or not too buy a video card?
Unfortunately thats a decision you will have to make in the end yourself. What WIPC can tell you is this:
Video cards, their drivers and performance change at a very rapid rate. As fast as fashion trends i would dare to say. But even with all that a good performing video card can significantly increase the performace of your PC visually.
Its true most motherboards have some sort of built in video. And for many users thats all they will ever need. However should you fall under any of categories listed below, WIPC recommends the purcahse of a seperate video card device:
- Games which require Texture and Lighting
- 3D software such as AutoCad® or 3DsMax®
- DVD or Home Theater Enthusists
- Video Creation or Editing
- Graphic Editing such as Adobe® Photoshop
Graphic cards arent all that complex from one another. What really seperates them and thier price and ability to perform. In general the more memory a video card has, the better its performace. That also goes for the speed of the GPU (graphic processing unit).
Yup you heard me right. Graphic cards today have become so advanced they have their own processor built on the board. The faster this GPU can display data on your screen the better the performance and usually higher the cost.
In the end what it really all comes down to is matching the right card to your software needs in order to get the best performance. The WIPC staff can help answer any questions or concerns you might have and get you exactly what you need.
